Cycling

Incorporate exercise into your day by hoping on your bike to get to work, run errands or just for fun!

Newmarket's East-West cycling route connects to the separated and raised bike lanes on Yonge St. and the bike lanes that run from Main St. along 2^nd Concession all the way up through East Gwillimbury and up to Holland Landing. You will also find bike lanes along the east side of Bathurst St. and a multi-use path along Mulock Drive.

There are multiple bike repair stations located within Newmarket. These stations allow you to conduct basic maintenance in your bicycles. Each station is equipped with an air pump, bike stand to secure your bike to work on it and a set of tools (Phillips and standard screwdrivers, steel core tire levers, headset/pedal wrench, 8/10 and 9/11mm cone wrenches, Torx T-25, and Hex key set).

• Magna Centre (800 Mulock Drive – two locations near the East and West Entrances)

Lock it or lose it!

Always lock your bike if you leave it unattended, even if it’s for a short amount of time. 

Remember thieves will steal an entire bike but they will also steal items attached to the bike that are not securely fastened, e.g. seat.

Register Your Bike!

Registering your bike with York Regional Police (YRP) will increase your chances of having it returned if it is lost or stolen. 

It is also a good idea to take a photo of your bike and record the serial number. Click here to register with YRP
